Zeidan et al. — Brief Mindfulness and Cognition
Short mental training, measurable cognitive change. A reminder that “brief” is a research factor — and still not a three-minute miracle file.
Fadel Zeidan and colleagues tested whether a short course of mindfulness meditation improved cognition relative to controls. Brief is the point.
Who, where, when
UNC Charlotte / later Wake Forest pain and mindfulness work. PMID 20363650.
What the work actually did
Several days of training, cognitive tasks, comparison conditions. Evidence that short practice can move some measures — in that design.
What it does not prove
Brief training is not trait enlightenment and is not binaural audio. Do not collapse “four days of mindfulness” into “press ENGAGE.”
How to use this page
If you only have twenty minutes, you are in a brief-practice world. Bring attention. The machine will not substitute.
Editorial reading of published research. The official paper is authoritative. Not medical advice. Not a claim that consumer audio recreates a trial protocol.
