What is measured

Isochronic tones are regular amplitude pulses in one stream — on, off, on, off at a chosen rate. One speaker is enough. Binaural beats are two steady carriers, one per ear; the pulse is built centrally. Summing to mono kills the second and leaves the first intact.

Both are rhythmic auditory stimuli. Neither guarantees cortical lock in every listener. Labs that pulse a click or an AM envelope are not the same protocol as a browser oscillator pair, and vice versa.

If a file “works on speakers,” it was never asking you for a binaural test. If a file needs headphones, do not fail it on a kitchen cone and call the science fake.

What is claimed

Catalogs dump isochronic, binaural, and “monaural beats” in one bin labeled entrainment. The mystic layer does not care about the plumbing. Your setup has to.
