Ehrsson — Experimental Out-of-Body Illusions
A camera, a body, a conflict between vision and touch. OBE-like experience in healthy volunteers. The self can be talked into a new seat.
H. Henrik Ehrsson induced out-of-body-like illusions in the lab by manipulating visual-tactile perspective. No mysticism required. Multisensory conflict is enough to move the felt place of “I.”

What the work actually did
Head-mounted display showing the participant’s back; synchronized touch. People report looking at themselves from behind. Physiological measures support the illusion in the paper’s design.
What it does not prove
An illusion of location is not remote viewing and not a Gateway Focus state. Do not staple Ehrsson to FOIA. Different claims, different methods.
How to use this page
If you chase OBE phenomenology, know that the lab already moved the self with cameras. Audio may change attention. It is not this apparatus.
