Nozaradan et al. — Tagging Beat and Meter
Gold-standard frequency-tagging: cortex can follow musical beat and meter. That is rhythmic entrainment as measurement. It is not a 6 Hz sine in cheap earbuds.
Sylvie Nozaradan and colleagues use EEG frequency-tagging to show that the brain tracks beat and meter in musical rhythms. The paper is a method lesson: if you want to talk about neural entrainment, this is what careful tagging looks like.

What the work actually did
Periodic musical rhythms, EEG, tagged frequencies at beat and meter. Evidence that neural populations can lock to those periodicities.
What it does not prove
Musical beat ≠ binaural difference tone. A 2 Hz drum pulse in both ears is not a 2 Hz dichotic beat. Cite this for measurement standards, not as a binaural-beat efficacy trial.
