Alpha waves explained
Alpha activity is commonly discussed in the roughly 8–12 Hz range (sources sometimes extend toward 13–14 Hz). It is often associated with relaxed wakefulness — eyes closed, calm but not asleep, receptive rather than racing.
In binaural listening, an alpha-range beat frequency is a design intention, not a guarantee of a lab EEG match. Individuals vary; volume, environment, and expectation all matter.
Practical use: soft focus, session entry, gentle wind-down without full sleep pressure. Always use stereo headphones at a comfortable level.
