What is measured

Hz: Cycles per second.
Pitch / note: Perceived highness of a tone; musical systems map Hz to names.
Cent: 1/100 of a semitone in 12-TET (log frequency unit).
Carrier: Base tone(s) used to carry a binaural difference.
Beat frequency: |fL − fR| perceived pulsation rate (the Console “brainwave” design number).
FFR / ASSR: Neural responses that can follow rhythmic auditory structure.
Cymatics: Visual standing-wave patterns in media (sand, water, plates).
Schumann resonances: EM cavity modes of Earth–ionosphere (~7.83 Hz fundamental).
Solfeggio (modern): Popular set of pure-tone Hz with spiritual labels (396, 528, etc.).
Equal temperament: 12 equal log steps per octave (modern keyboard standard).
Just intonation: Intervals from simple integer ratios (sweeter pure intervals in one key).
Isochronic: Pulsed amplitude rhythm in one audio stream (works on speakers).
Infrasound / ultrasound: Below / above the typical human hearing band (~20 Hz–20 kHz).
