What is measured

Pythagorean tradition links simple ratios (2:1 octave, 3:2 fifth, 4:3 fourth) to consonant intervals via string length. This is the seed of mathematical music theory. “Music of the spheres” imagined planetary motions as inaudible harmony — philosophy and cosmology, later inspiring Kepler’s Harmonices Mundi.

What is claimed

Number as cosmos: the idea that harmony in the soul mirrors harmony in the heavens underwrites centuries of esoteric music. Modern frequency spirituality is a direct descendant of this intuition.
