Why Stereo Matters for Binaural Beats

Stereo is not a nice-to-have. It is the condition under which a binaural beat can exist.

Each ear needs its own carrier. The moment left and right are summed — a speaker, a mono Bluetooth profile, an accessibility “mono audio” switch — the difference collapses before the brainstem ever sees it.

You can still hear music in mono. You cannot hear a binaural beat in mono. Those are different products wearing the same word “stereo” in a shop listing.

Test: pan a file hard left. The right cup should go quiet. Then ENGAGE on this console. If the test fails, fix the path before you blame the beat.
