Who, where, when
Heinrich Wilhelm Dove described dichotic beats in 1839, with tuning forks routed to separate ears. Gerald Oster put the percept back on a working scientist’s desk in Scientific American, 1973. Robert Monroe later built a civilian school around layered audio and numbered Focus states. Interest in that work is documented. Ownership of the phenomenon is not.
What this is not
It is not a claim that consumer headphones recreate a classified program, and it is not the Monroe Institute. The Institute is a private organization and still operating. This console is an independent stereo instrument.
