Garcia-Argibay, Santed & Reales (2019) reported that beta-range binaural beats improved long-term memory performance relative to white noise in their paradigm, whereas theta-range beats impaired performance relative to that control — evidence that “any binaural beat helps learning” is false.

The broader 2019 meta-analysis also examined memory and attention across multiple primary studies, finding overall effects with between-study variability.
